What is the office

Intellectual Property Office of Montenegro manages Montenegrin system for protection of intellectual property rights, in particular patents, trademarks, design and geographical indications and appellations of origin, topographies of integrated circuits, and also issues operating licences to the collective management organizations for copyright and related rights.

What we do

We grant rights in the field of industrial property in the territory of Montenegro.
We conduct international procedures for granting rights on the basis of international agreements ratified by  Montenegro.
We inform You about procedures for granting rights in Montenegro.
We work on promotion of respect for and protection of intellectual protection rights.
We organize seminars and workshops in the field of intellectual property.
We keep You informed on the news in the country and worldwide in relation to intellectual property.
We refer You to the other organisations which can help You to protect Your rights.

What we cannot help You

We cannot prepare application instead of You.
We cannot advise You about the characteristics of Your application before we make our investigation.
We cannot survey the market to recognize possible infringement of Your rights.
We cannot estimate commercial value of Your intellectual property.
